The 2004 Trinity 5k Roadrace had a record setting 175 entrants and 169 finishers. Though this year's weather was clear and sunny, it was also very warm and humid, making it one of the toughest runs in T5K history. Undaunted, the large turnout of atheletes performed very well given the conditions. Because of the large field, most of the age group prizes were awarded. Also awarded were many merchandise prizes at the post race party. Thousands of dollars were raised for children affected by the Chornobyl Nuclear Disaster.
The 2004 race was held on Saturday, August 28 at 9:00 starting on the downtown campus of Western Connecticut State. The city streets course was well controlled by the Danbury Police Explorers assisted by the campus police and race volunteers. As always, customT-shirts were awarded to all entrants in the walk, Kids Fun Run and the 5k run.
