TRINITY 5K
2005
RoadRace, Danbury CT.
To Benefit
Children of Chornobyl Relief Fund
The 2005 Trinity 5k Roadrace had 155 entrants and 143 finishers. This year's weather was slightly cloudy before the race but the sun and some humidity crept out just as the race was to begin, making it warmer than expected but bearable  Nevertheless the entusiastic runners turned in steller performances. With such a good turnout, many of the age group prizes were awarded. Again, thousands of dollars were raised for children affected by the Chornobyl Nuclear Disaster.
The 2005 race was held on Saturday, August 27 at 9:00 starting on the downtown campus of Western Connecticut State. This year's event was complicated by the unexpected presence of many students and parents of WestConn for 'moving in day'. Despite this, the city streets course was well controlled by the Danbury Police Explorers assisted by the campus police and race volunteers.   The usual custom T-shirts were awarded to all entrants in the Kids Fun Run and the 5k run.

As always, the post race party included Holy Trinity's famous home made perogies, What About a Bagel' bagels and plenty of fruit and ICY water. The drawing again featured a B&B stay at the Village Inn, in Lenox, Massachusetts and other prizes.
