In mid-January 2005, the weather became more of a factor. Here work is halted because of a 5 inch snowfall.
This picture (taken 01/12/05) shows the equipment sitting idle. Later this week, work renewed on constructing the concrete forms for the basement walls. It is hoped we will be able to pour the cement in January, and that the weather is favorable.
As of January 2004, the excavation of the basement is complete as are the concrete foundation footings. Remaining to be done is the concrete walls for the basement. Framing and steel work are planned to begin in late January 2005.
Providing funds are available, the building may be ready for use in 2005, although with many deferred elements. Although these decisions will be made as the project progresses, some items currently planned for deferral are the onion domes, new commercial kitchen appliances, finishes for floors and trimwork, air conditioning, optional bathrooms, etc. These and many other elements will be added over years as funding is available.
