Mid March 2005, front porch (the "Sobotu") foundation walls are curing in the forms. Some of the backfilling is done, and the stanchions that will hold the steel beams are in place, ready for the steel.
This picture (taken 03/10/05) also shows the foundation has been backfilled more and that the reserved pile of soil in the rear is shrinking as it is used for fill. Multiple snowfalls in the last few weeks slowed the schedule a bit. We now expect the steel in the next week or so.
As of March 15, 2005, the foundation walls for the church basement and the front porch have been waterproofed, backfilled, and footing drains are installed. Structural steel work is now planned to begin in late March 2005.
Providing funds are available, the building may be ready for use in late 2005, although with many deferred elements. Although these decisions will be made as the project progresses, some items currently planned for deferral are the onion domes, new commercial kitchen appliances, finishes for floors and trimwork, air conditioning, optional bathrooms, etc. These and many other elements will be added over years as funding is available. Please consider helping with a donation of any size.
