The 2003 Trinity 5k Roadrace had about 130 enthusiastic entrants. As in the previous 6 races, we were blessed with fine running weather, a welcome change from what had been weeks of heat and humidity. Once again many age group prizes were awarded along with merchandise prizes at the unique post race party. Thousands of dollars were raised for children affected by the Chornobyl Nuclear Disaster. Many racers said they really enjoyed the run and hoped to return.
The 2003 race was held on Saturday, August 23 and started at 9:00 near Holy Trinity Church on the downtown campus of Western Connecticut State. The city streets course was well controlled by the Danbury Police Explorers assisted by the campus police and race volunteers. As always, customT-shirts were awarded to all entrants in the walk, Kids Fun Run and the 5k run.
